Peacock gudgeons

They're here! Came yesterday. They seem to be adjusting well, pretty active, and ate some brine shrimp. They're so gorgeous! The female is nice and plump, so fingers crossed. :) They seem to have already staked out a corner as their own, so I'll put a pipe there.

Pics later, promise- I can't upload them at work.

Interstingly, my licorice gourami has been out and about a lot more. He doesn't seem stressed, the opposite in fact. I don't think he got his hiding place stolen- I haven't seen the gudgeon's near "his" spot. Keeping an eye out anyway though.

I'm interested in the peacock gudgeons as well! you should definitely update this thread, let us know how yours are doing. keep me posted and i'll buy some offspring! haha..

Here's how you can feed them: get a portion of live bloodworms or tubifex, rinse them, and put them all in the tank, so that they burrow in to the substrate. They leave their hind ends sticking out of the substrate, so your peacock gudgeons can eat them whenever they are hungry, and you don't have to worry about the other fish eating all the food first. I am doing this with my African dwarf frogs, and it works wonderfully. I would keep live worms in the substrate even if they were in a species tank, because it's so easy, and since the worms are alive, they help keep the water clean instead of polluting it, the way frozen bloodworms do. I am jealous of your peacock gudgeons, by the way!
