ive heard these are good fish. i have an upcoming 20 gal. itll have 6 glolgites, 3 platies and a sword. would all these go together and is therer anything i need 2 no about them?

The pearl gourami is one of my favorite fish! It is very beautiful. I don't think those combinations of fish with a pearl gourami would present a problem. A 20 gallon is certainly a minimum size for these fish since they grow up to 4 1/2 inches. Just make sure to give it ample swimming space.
sounds good, but i may get a sparkling gourami, its more colorful and smaller.

Instead of the sparkling gourami, you could also look at dwarf gouramis or neon gouramis. They both are less than 2 inches and are very beautiful also.
