Is it worth using for a community tank? My pH is about 7.6 and my fish seem fine... I have silver dollars, neon tetras, raspboras, bristlenose pleco, and Salt & Pepper corydora in my 55 gallon. Should I just use peat fiber to lower it to 7.0?If I should use it, how much do i add to my last level container in my fluval canister?I think my driftwood isn't releasing tannins anymore;been about one month being in the 55 gallon after driving off heavy amounts of tannin acids in boiling water. :)

no no, dont even think about using peat with a pH liek that. The more screwing around you do with the water, the worse you're going to make it.

Don't tamper with your pH, as long as its stable its ok. Tampering with your pH can lead to fluctuations which will be more harmful for the fish. :)

:iagree:

Your fish will be fine without the use of peat.:)

Ahh thanks for all the replies. I will not use peat fiber at any cost
