Does Peat Moss float or sink? sorry lety me elabborate, i am using peatmoss as a undersubstrate in my 10g planted but as i put it in, it murked up the water and is now all the way floating on top. will this sink eventually by absorbing water or will i have to skim it out and start again....

Float. Becareful will that stuff as it will lower the pH.

Might want to put some fine gravel over that stuff. Keep it from floating away.

Somebody.... Hagen I think, now makes peat grandules.

They are roughly the size of average gravel. We (at the store) have found that it tends not to tannin up the water as much as the regular fluffy stuff and is easier to use in the tank or filter.
