I was at www.Thatpetplace.com today. I actually went to the store because it's pretty close to my house.

I was looking around and noticed that they were completely sold out of Marineland Penguin 330 Filters but they had all the smaller ones and the emperor. I was going to pick one up because mine is getting pretty old (it works fine but I would like to get a new one) Anway it's only $20 plus tax.

I went to their website and it's no longer listed and I can't find the marineland site either it says it's no longer there.

Does anyone know what's going on?? I think it's a great filter and I hope it's not discontinued.

dont know but you can always get the regent from walmart and then buy the biowheel retrofit kit.

might cost more than 20 bucks though.

It's $9 more at bigals beacause of shipping. Total big als=$30.94
Total Pet Place=$21.31

I was just wondering what's going on with the filter because if they aren't discontinued or anything I'll just wait until after christmas and maybe they will have more in stock.

Oh yeah, I know it's only $9 but by the time they get them back in stock I'll be ready to make another trip and I'll just pick one up then.

I've still seen them at Petco and many smaller fish stores here in Wisconsin. Good filters but perhaps 2 170's would be the same if you can find them? Hopefully they are just out of them and you can get them sooner then later.

It looks like Marineland is still making them. Try asking if they are going to be getting some in and if they say no tell them that you think it's a mistake not to sell them.

CajunCC I'm also from harrisburg. It's about a 40 minute or so drive for me to get down there but well worth it.

I hope they didn't stop selling the 330. For the money it can't be beat.
Maybe with christmas coming up they just can't keep them in stock.

AHA! I should have just called them in the first place.

They are not discontinued, they are apparently being redesigned. I don't have details but they are going to be getting more in stock they are just out of the old model and a new one is coming out.

Hope it's "New and Improved" not "New and Cheaper"

Yeah I hope they don't make it worse.

I was doing some more research (too much time on my hands) and I read that they are going to color code the filters themselves and the filter cartridges so that it is easier to pick which replacement cartridges you need.

My guess is that they are just making new packaging for the filter and replacement cartridges and that the filter itself will be the same one they have always sold.
