which floating plant do u guys prefer and why? i cant decide which one to get. i have a 30 gallon low tech plant setup and i'd like to have some floating plants around.

It all depends on how much you want to deal with selling/tossing plants. Frogbit grows like wildfire and pennywort is more slow controllable growth.
Depending on your lighting, i would go with pennywort (or even both lol)

i have a coralife 36" T-5 double light strip at 21W per bulb over a 30 gallon tank. so thats roughly 1.4W/g
both plants should do good floating. But if you have plants below that make sure that the floaters are not blocking the little light there is
I have frogbit and like it. The fast growth allows me to use it in other tanks quicker...which I like. I give away or toss the rest. I keep fish that like shade, so the fast and dense growth also helps in that area.
My pennywort grows crazy I find myself having to trim it several times a week. It probably grows a foot a week I did a major rescape two weeks ago and probably pulled out three pounds of it out of my 36g. I'm at a little over 3wpg with pressurized c02. I would imagine it would be very controllable with your setup.

I'd go for Frogbit, they spread fast and provide excellent coverage for fry and if you have a pond, they provide shade too. But Pennywort's good too. Get both! :grinyes:
lol I have both in one tank. you do need to watch light tho as it will block out light.
