I've got one that is getting FAT. Any way to sex these? Any clues that may tell me if it's a she and if she is carrying eggs?

This one's slightly larger than the other that I have. I'll try to get a photo tomorrow. Not that much LONGER than the other, but man, probably 2 - 2.5x in girth.

Ya I have 3 Bronze corycats and one of them is wider and slightly larger than the other 2. I believe that one to be a female. God, corycats are sooo much fun to watch. They constantly dart about the bottom of the tank together and they always seem so happy!

I have 2 males and a female. They were all purchased at the same time and the female has grown much larger (at least 1" more) than the males, she has a greater girth as well. The females generally do get larger from what I've read. Yours is probably carrying some eggs - if you want to try and induce spawning, do a 50% water change with 3 to 4 degrees cooler water than your tank temperature (assuming your other fish are hardy and can handle the temperature change). I've yet to save any eggs - the danios and platies get to them first.

Try here for information on Peppered Corys.

I have some 4 year old peppered cories and my experience is that the females of this species are noticably bigger. Males are maxing out around 4.5 cm and my females are near 6.5 cm. Please note that I'm estimating a bit since I don't want to actually net the fish just to measure.
