Peppered Cory Eggs and Fry Pics

Methylene blue or malachite green are the appropriate anti-fungal solutions for eggs as opposed to melafix or pimafix.

Microworms would be a good sized starter food for your cory fry once they absorb their yolk sac. I'm not sure what other food could replace it that you wouldn't have to order from an online site. Maybe you can go on aquabid and see if any of the microworm cultures being sold are through sellers located near you. You could also try this later on when warmer weather comes in:

I would do this in an area of ground away from any pesticides or any other contaminants, though, so maybe try a wooded area. I'm gonna try this in a couple months myself :)

@saram521 Thanks for the input. I haven't tried either of those meds as an anti-fungal before, but definitely will the next time around as they are both much cheaper than the Mardel Maroxy (stabilized chlorine oxides) I'm currently using. As for the link you sent I had already come across that earlier today and I'm going to try it myself when the ground thaws. We'll have to compare notes, I'm curious to see if we collect the same critters given our different locations.

Two new pictures from today. Spots are darkening up, they are much more active and appear to be slightly larger (wishful thinking). Will probably move these two to another container tomorrow as I'm not sure they need to be swimming about in the anti fungal that the eggs require. . . . . actually on second thought - anyone have suggestions here? I've never really had too many fungal problems with fry of other species in the past (save a bare bottom 5gal with 30 or so guppy fry in it when I was first starting out). Would the antifungal be beneficial to the fry, as in keep 'em safe, or perhaps harmful as in exposure to unnecessary chemicals? I'm going to do some research but would like your opinions as well.

I'm going to order some golden pearls. I hadn't heard of them until you mentioned them so I did some Googleing and read nothing but good things. I do have some brine shrimp eggs on hand and I'm going to decap them, Will the fry take them readily as they are? I have read some fry will ignore non-living foods. Has anyone fed cory fry unhatched decapped brine shrimp eggs with success?

Methylene Blue is anti fungal.
Malachite Green is anti bacterial.

As to food, micro organisms on a mature sponge filter or plants are a great food for cory fry.
For convenience, finely crushed slake food will help.
Hikari First Bites is readily available and very good. Golden Pearls is wonderful and you'll have it for the next batch. Cylops-Eeze is another man made food that is fantastic.
