Peppered Cory Eggs

hehehe, I know... it is tough to part with them.... the peppered cories were always such good breeders for me....

yeap, a turkey baster will kick syringe butt in cleaning the old food out...

good luck with your little ones :)

I just noticed that my corys had laid eggs again, but this time it almost looked like some of them had hatched. There were 2 that looked much like what I would expect an egg to look like, and a bunch that looked like empty shells.

When the eggs hatch is anything left behind? I did not see the eggs there yesterday, but to be honest did not look close enough. But at the most the eggs have been there 48 hours, so I don't even know if that's enough time for them to have hatched. Just wondering if there might be some cory fry swimming around in my tank somewhere.

I've never had cories, but I will get some in a few months. I think what happened is they hatched, then ate the egg shell for nutrient. Depending on the stock of your tank the fry may have already been eaten.

In the tank with them is 1 large angel, 2 rubberlip plecos and 4 rummynose tetra. If anyone ate them I would guess it being the angel, but I have tried giving him live food before and he ignored it. So maybe they are hiding out somewhere, not counting on it though.

Thanks for the reply.

Today....well today I looked at my tank around 12ish and noticed I had peppered cory eggs on one of my plants! I took the leaves off and put them in a worm cone feeder that I had laying around. then I was studying and notice them going at it. A new cory that i got about 2 weeks ago, and an older cory about 7 months ago. The older one is about twice the size of the new one. They were going at it for almost 8 or 9 hours now. I have over 50ish eggs lining my walls and plants... will ever stop?
I really don't want all of them, maybe a few.
Heres 2 of the 50ish that I have...
