Peppermint Shrimp eat snails?

I just was a Peppermint Shrimp digging into a snail shell. Then came back and it appeared he had dropped it and the snail was upside down on the sand but...seemed alive.

Anyone know if a Peppermint will occasionally dine on small snails?

My peps ate a whole shipment of nassarius snails. Picked them up, pulled them out of the shells, ate them.

I have never seen them touch the atreas, strombus or ceriths, though.
