I just finished cleaning my tank and I was watching one of my peppermint shrimp (I have 6).

All of a sudden, my shrimp jumped out and sprayed out hundreds of little things (that could've been larvae). I looked on line and found out that they will reproduce in a tank but the larvae almost never make it.

Has anyone's peppermint shrimp given birth before?

That sounds cool. Can you still see most of them? Can you get a pic?

I'm not planning on breeding them. I just thought it was really neat what they did.

My cleaner shrimps have done it before. The first time was during a powercut, when the lights came back on there was a huge white cloud in my tank, nearly frightened me to death. Once I worked out what it was it was pretty amazing to watch. My fish had an absolute feeding frenzy that night!!!

I had two do it at the same time. Nothing made it. Oddly, both shrimp disappeared (dead?) about two weeks later. Never figured that out, they were quite big, everything else is fine.
