I just added one to my reef setup about 2 days ago and have only seen him once, at night. These guys are all that obnoxious when they are alone are they? I hope one of my fish haven't eaten him. I have been trying to get rid on my apstacia and finally gave in and bought the shrimp this past weekend and he has dissapeared. There at the store they seem to be very high strung what has happened. My waters good.

How did you go about acclimating it to your tank? Shrimp, usually need a fairly lengthy acclimation process ,they can't take a sudden change in water chemistry etc. That may or may not be the issue sometimes a new critter will hide for a while after intro that may be the problem. Non-cleaners can sometimes be a little slower to show there face so look for antena peeking out of your l.r.
As to it being obnoxious that will depend on if he's really a peppermint or one of the look alikes. I hope Dave will say something here I really have a hard time telling the two species apart.

My peps have always spent the daylight hours in the rockwork. They will come out for food, and are a lot more active at night. Have a look with a flashlight after lights out.

Hmm,mine were out in the day time . I really don't think that were peps .

Maybe. Could just be different lighting or inhabitants. This applied to both the "rathbunae" and "wurdemani" kinds that I've kept.
