Perfect Match?

What small lonesome fish which would along with 3 small corys?
I will be acquiring a 5/6 gallon rectangular tank with 3 small corys.
I am preferably looking for a small middle to top dwelling fish that does not need to be in a school. And it needs to share the same environment as the corys (dark, well planted and 22-28°C).
Any ideas?

i think you're hitting the limit with the corys.

the corys swim at the bottom in general so a livebearer would work make sure they dont breed only males (female sword tails turn into male occasionaly
