can I use stainless washers as plant weights? I recently got a TON of anacharis for $2 and its currently free floating in my tank. I would like to anchor it in my substrate but I imagine it would break free and float alot. Could I hook something like stainless washers to the anacharis with thread/fishing line? Thanks

i dont see a problem with it, but for cheap you can go to most LFS and get a set of flexible lead weights that wrap around and serve the same purpose.

well, hubby is a welder and a mechanic so I have eight MILLION stainless washers. I can bury them under the substrate and save myself the trip. THANKS!

Over time even a stainless steel washer will rust and leak iron into the water column. But over the short-term you should be fine.
