"pest" snails, beneficial?

I LOVE the MTS snails.

At first i got them for my puffer, then it died, then out of no where i see abunch of MTS snails.

Weird, they only come out in the night, and burry in the sand during the day. Pretty good sand shifters imo.

Thts why most ppl get em. they're not very colorful or daytime active....but it sure freaks ur friends out when they see the substrate move lol

My other snails tend to not make it in the sand substrate.

I tryed Ramhorns, MTS, and the football shaped ones (Ponds?)

Ramhorns and Ponds couldnt move across the sand. So they died.
All thats left was the MTS. I need to get more, 15cents each at my store aint so bad =]

My Bettas eat snails, so untill now my one try ended up as a tasty protein supplement!

some people see them as a pest (especially those who have an uncontrollable population boom) but i wouldn't mind having them in my tank, especially MTS's.

in fact, i have a dozen or so baby snails in my 5G hex tank, which probably traveled on a bunch of java moss i was quarantining. i'll wait until they get bigger and them either add them to my tank or give them away.
