Pet Peeve: The Correct Spelling is "Detritus"

It drives me nuts when people ignore even rudimentary punctuation and capitalization.
It drives me nuts when people use the phrase 'lol'.
It makes me laugh when people complain about spelling or grammar and then proceed to botch up their own.
It drives me nuts when people refuse to break up a massive block of text into paragraphs. Short sentences are okay. Short paragraphs are okay as well.
The worst really is that people refuse to attempt to use capitalization and punctuation when writing online. I can accept a certain prevalence of colloquialisms considering that the writing tends to be a replacement for speech and as such tends to be fairly informal. I rather enjoy butchering the language in order to play around with words as well. However, please, try not to type like this. ok? its pretty freaking annoying trying to figure out when you end a sentence ive frequently decided to ignore information that people are trying to give or ask for because theyre too **** lazy to try and format their text in a halfway decent manner. k?

Playing devil's advocate there... I love words with unneccessary silent letters, I would be unable to live it a world where knife was spelt 'nife' and pterodactyl was spelt 'terodactyl'....
The prevalence of jargon and acronyms is only to be expected on the web, its main purpose is convenience. Personally I try to use correct grammar and spelling, only because I type out essays for English and I don't want to get into bad habits.
Then to top-off the rant:
You're = You are
They're = They are
We're = We are
Its = the object belonging to it
It's = abbreviation of 'it is'
Payed is not the correct spelling of 'paid'
