I thought for all to have a release valve we could list those things that we have heard, and keep hearing through the threads. Gets to be old, still good info....but it gets old that people don't use the search capability:

1. Don't buy a mandarin goby unless your system is well established and you have lot's of pods
2. Don't buy a fish hoping that you are going to upgrade soon, regardless of the size of fish now
3. "But I really like my PRISM skimmer" you can't possible :-)
4. This is a fun hobby....it is an addiction. This forum is fun, the hobby really is a passion/addiction.

Please add your own

Folks..this is a thread concerning pet peeves of Marine issues...please stay on track..thanks.

did you make sure your sump doesnt overflow with all that water in it?And I say to myself,Of course I checked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!do you honestly think I want to flood my house??

How about "the diatoms are common with a new tank".
I'm guilty about asking about that too, even though I had read and been told that they will go away in at least 7,654 threads :D.

I am guilty of asking them all. And there is "I think my fish as Marine Ich....can I treat it in the reef system".

I asked that one myself and in earnest, the best treatment is the QT/Hospital tank...

Hope no one is taking this too seriously, it is meant to be a laugh only.

Thread Title "Algae Problems Help"

I feel like a broken record at times listing the preventative measures and clean up break down.

It's to the point where I want to do a write up to be stuck to the top of this forums section.

Where can I get a reef safe shark that eats hair algae and won't bother smaller fish for my 50 gallon?

I have one for you, its becoming a pet peeve of mine.

"But salt water tanks are too hard, nanos are even harder and pico is for expert only" No they aren't. I dunno, but I've had my tank for about 3 weeks now (give er take) and its only a little 5g tank. No algae issues, coraline growing, corals growing (granted I bleached em, but they are slowly coming back) and all the inverts are fine. I dunno what the heck they are talking about hard. Hardest part I've dealt with the SG rising because of evap.
