Anybody ever buy fishes from this store?

I've only bought some "feeder" guppies.

Thanks

I've not gone to this store, but be careful. Many large chains like this are trouble. They use common filtration (the same huge filter for all the tanks) so if one tank is sick, they all are. Another thing is you will find very few knowledgable staff members, so you might get bad information. (my appologies to anyone who works at a large chain and acctually knows what they are doing, all two of you ;) ) As far as dry goods they are OK, but try and support the little guys.

I do support the little guys too.

I'd rather go to them but the Pet Supermarket store had some plecos I was looking at.

I didn't buy any.

I went to a LFS and bought one.

I agree, This is exactly like Petcetera. Petcetera is all ran on the same filtration and everytime I go there most of the fish at least have something minor like fin rot. The best places to go is somewhere you trust (Like a lfs), and somewhere that has seperate tanks and sounds like they know what theyre talking about. Look at all of thier tanks as well, are there sick fish? are the tanks cleaned? it's best for the safety of your other fish to check these things.

I have pretty limited sources here in Panama City, so I have bought fish from Pet Supermarket. I'm happy to say, I had good luck with them. Not to say that it will be that way next week - this type of store seems to have a pretty high turnover rate, employee-wise. The next fish person may not do as well.

They also do a pretty good volume of business, so their stock is usually fresher - both with fish and other things. Example: One of the other locally owned stores carries the treat food I buy for my bird, but it always seems to be out-of-date. I don't know if fish food has an expiration date like bird food does. (Dried fruit, nuts, etc with no preservatives)

I like to support the little guy, and I will spend a bit extra to do so, but I think you have to play the "wise shopper" when you do it.

PS does have a large selection -at least where I am.

That is why I looked there.
