Pet Supplies Plus can special order fish

Huh.

I was at one the other day to get some feeder guppies and price check things.

Anyway I ususally go to the LFS but places like PSP and Super Petz have bigger selections of filters, pumps, ect.

The guy in charge of the fish at the store told me he could special order fish if they were available.

I bought a shortnose gar from this same store once two years ago and he is still fine and healthy.

I still prefer to get fish from the LFS.

I've been working at a PSP for 14 months, and I'm pretty much in charge of fish there...

Eh I dunno where NC gets their fish from.

Either way, we send in weekly orders that have to be sent in 1-2 days before the fish arrive. If you're 'close' with that store (you know the employees, etc) and it seems like you are if you know they can special order, just ask them to see the order sheet or if you can special order whatever fish...I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you didn't already know.
