PETA Billboard Outrage: Fat Women = Beached Whales

omg what a bunch of ... cant say it but you know what i mean..
ahh well them PETA people cant hate me all they like cause im a squidgey meat eater..and will continue to be... most veggies to me taste vile i mean how can an aubergine be as tastey as a fat juicey steak

right i have to respond to a subcurrant that has been going on in this discussion that meat is the cause of obesity in America and to be frank i have to disagree. while i think an all meat diet probably isn't that healthy for you i think that obesity is contributed more to junk food (there is more wheat products in this category then meat products) and the way we process food in general now (mass production and sung cheap and unhealthy ingredients).there is also the factor that alot of people do not exorcise enought (including me) compared to the richness of the food thay eat.

what i find wrong about PETA's add is there all emcoumpasing state meant that obesity is because of meat, which to be honest i think is not true. obesity is because of bad diets, junk food, fast food, bad ingredients, and lack of exorcise.

a note on fast food: yes this has meat in it but horribly prepared meat with additives that is not normally in meat. also a lot of time it is so processed that it cant even really be considered meat but more bi-product of meat (taco bell uses something in there tacos that thay call meat but is not legally considered meat i believe).

now this is all my opinions but thay are onions that i have because of what i have observed of food in general and how and what people consume on a daily basis. now also a bit of moderation is a good thing in all aspects of life and i don't think there is one way to go about dieting but you should do it withing reason.

total:bs:
i am over weight,.. and my metabolism is very slow,.. and my skinny sister eat tons more than i do,.. i barely eat 1000 calories a day,.. mostly 700,..
i gain weight with pasta and potatoes,.. so there ,.. and no its not the sauces that i use,..
i have went to whole grain pasta and still no real difference,..
meat and dairy isn't the issue here

and by the way we as a species are omnivores, not vegans,..

PETA get a grip and fade away,.. i suport kindness to animals but peta is just the same as the other groups they try to harm,..,.. they just try to hide it,..

our fda food group triangle is almost the same as feed for pigs except for the meat,.. so you fatten up pigs and steers with a veggie diet,.. so take that and shove it,.. btw i farm so i know,..

I was vegetarian for a year and I believe I was quite anemic during that year. Also, vegetarians can definitely still be huge, I have the potential to be huge as long as I can eat ice cream and cake. Also, I struggle off and on with anorexia but am now overweight by a few pounds, and that sign could be seen the wrong way by anorexics. Anything bashing weight and forcing the "skinny = attractive" mindset could be a trigger for an anorexic.

One of the things that just slays me is the people that eat all vegetarian meals, diet drinks, and salads full of salad dressing, oil, and other high-calorie additives and wonder why they can't lose weight! Let's not forget the bacon sprinkles, croûtons, Ranch Dressing or others made with "real" mayonnaise. Let's have a baked potato filled with butter, sour cream, green onions, and a garnish of some fashion. "I don't exercise because it's too much work!" Give me a break!

Just give me a steak, medium rare and forget PETA! And yes, I exercise within the limits of what I can do.

You got it!!!!!

Darn tootin'! We're telling everyone we know how horrible of an organization PETA is, and spreading the word to stop giving these wackos money.

I'm not much of a Peta fan either, maybe we should talk less about them, andead learn how to support the Steve Irwin and other such true humane animal organizations.

I don't really have an oppinion on the sign. I can understand how some people could find it humorous, and how others could find it offensive.

However, I don't like it how PETA makes vegetarians seem crazy although me being vegetarian I see their public "protests" as nothing compared to the number of animal murders that happen each day for peoples food.

Vegetarians and vegans need to admit that they do what they do because of their personal feelings about animals and not for any supposed health benefits. Anyone familiar with comparative morphology can see we are not a vegetarian species. Our teeth and digestive systems are all wrong, and then there's the fact that vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient which we are not capable of synthesizing. We didn't evolve in an environment with synthesized vitamins and man-made yeast strains.
