I agree that PETA does some good things, but they also take other things to a zealous level. Similar to Greenpeace. Are they good organizations, yes. Are they corrupted internally by special interests of prominent members, yes. IMO, any absolute is going to fail. I'd gladly send them money or become active in their causes if they would promote responsible practices over prohibition. I've got to go out back and grill up my organically farmed / responsibly killed Buffalo steak now.

Exactly HN, I would never give money to PETA! The PETA organization has deep ties to a group called ALF (Animal Liberation Front). They are a terrorist organization!

Animals can be your friends... You can "consider" them part of your family... But they will never be human beings, thus they can never be considered an equal either.

Sure they can be equal. I don't hold humans as being higher than animals. That's not the mindset that I come from. People don't agree with that, and that's fine so long as they don't expect me to save them before saving my own animals or other ones.

That notion is RIDICULOUS! Provide me with some examples of how humans and animals are equals?

IMO, this is a charged topic on a post started 3 months ago. I see no good coming of continuing to rehash it. Discussion of politics is against TOS.
