Pfertz

Gamer - that's exactly the reason I don't mix my own. Too much hassle (for me - not you), etc. I would much rather do 5 pumps of each every day and be done. Much easier and much more in tune with my skill level (lol).

Each pump is squirting money out your wallet.. I agree all these premixed ferts like ada, seachem and pfertz are great and ultimately contain the same thing. Its the schedule you dose it at and the slight difference in concentration is what makes a difference.

Big difference between premixed and dry is the money and the time it will last.
Its like talking about diy co2 or pressurized. One just pays off more in the future..

Yet i myself still am on seachem. Running low on K and iron so will see what will be my choice in the near future. Would love to try the Pfertz but never know where my wallet will go.

Sometimes BK you just get what you pay for ... that's my take on the whole Pfertz thing. You've seen my tank. It has just responded better over the past couple of weeks that I have been dosing with Pfertz. The greens are greener, the plants just have an overall better look to them - healthier would be the best way to put it. Seachem is great no question. IMHO Pfertz is just cleaner and without question has provided better results for me!!

Does the pferts have ingredients on the bottles?? Just curious on the % of what they use.

Not saying Pfertz is bad. Just saying its all the same thing just called differently and one might add an extra element/mineral or add .75 of something instead of .7

might have higher concentration. there are links where it tells you how much of x to add to be the same thing as the flourish.... it takes all about 2-3 mins to make a bottle of trace. i am not saying its wrong or doesnt work i am just saying there things you can diy and save lots. one great thing about fish tanks is there more then one way to do it.

I don't find anywhere on the bottle of micros what exact ingredients that are included. They list a couple - Iron, etc. - but allude to the fact that there are others they don't tell us about (I guess it's a secret - lol).

I didn't take it that you thought Pfertz was "bad." And, I am still sober enough to understand that all fert brand "ingredients" are basically the same. The likely reason that my tank is responding a little better to Pfertz is that their dosing and mixture percentages seem to be very precise - giving a steady daily diet. Not saying (at all) that the same results couldn't be achieved with other brands and a scheduled dosing. I like the simplicity of Pfertz - bottom line.

lol Coy put his foot down.

Products do differ slightly per each tank. Recently spoke with another member who uses Stress Coat to condition his water. I asked why not prime and he said he thought Prime melts his plants and fish dont do well for him with it. Dont know how true that is but will have to believe him.

Concentration isn't really that important, the important thing is you provide enough nutrients to last until the next dosage, without adding too much that it becomes toxic. Obviously dosing the full range of nutrients every day is more likely to meet that criteria.

Sometimes you just have to (lol) - I've found that people who primarily use initials (cfsinc doesn't apply here) as an identity (BK for instance) often have a bit of a tough time with a detailed, well thought out explanation! Foot down on the other hand is often better understood (lol)!!

There you go - that's exactly what I was trying to say (lol). Very nicely put!

You somewhat contradict yourself.. Concentration isnt important but providing enough nutrients is the key..

Both are important

If 5mls of say flourish contains 3% iron and 5mls of some other fert contains 5% of iron.. Then concentration matters and you would have to dose more/less of one of the ferts to come to a desired ppm.
