In preparation for being out of town for several days I did 2 water changes in 3 days. I did a 20% on Tuesday night, then a 40% last night. My pH has been a steady 7.8 since my tank cycled (about 2 1/2 months now). After the double water change it was reading a 7.4. I have dwarf gourami, angelfish, Harlequin Rasbora, glass catfish and yo-yo loaches in the tank. Should I be worried about this change? If so is there anything I can do to help? Thanks!

That much of a change is really not ideal, I think it is only supposed to change .2 in 24 hours. But it shouldn't be too big of a deal! I wouldn't add anything to change it, if its been stable it will probably slowly go back up. Are you sure it doesn't fluctuate this much when you do normal water changes anyway? Like your tap and tank have a big difference?

What kind of test kit are using? Check the expiration date?
pH level is an exponential function of the H+ ions in the water. So a small change in pH level has adrastic effect on the water chemistry.
0.4 change in pH level in your tank means change of 10 raised to -0.4 of H- ions in your water.
