The kh is going to be the determining factor of where his pH hangs. Other additives will also affect it.

How consistent are your changes between the three tanks?

there are things that can be done to lower the ph. on the other hand fish like a stable ph. how i test my tap water is get a cup and leave it out over night. if your fish seem happy dony mess with your ph. playing around with your water can cause more prolems then having a higher ph.
