I've had my 75 gallon running for about 3-4 months (ok, I don't remember when I started it). In the very beginning of the tank the ph was in the 8.2 area. This is when I was fishless cycling the tank. Soon after that the ph went to somewhere between 7.6 and 7.8 and has stayed there since. I have eco-complete as a substrate (80 pounds) and have a fair amount of local rock in the tank.

Here's a picture:

I have 5 Acei, 5 Kenyi, 4 Electric Yellow, 1 bottle nose pleco.

Should I care that my ph is at this level? Will anything happen long term; good/bad? I assume the pleco likes the lower ph. Everyone in the tank seems pretty happy. The Acei is the higher rated ph fish and they seem happiest of all.

Thanks for listening.

Plecos are more of a softer water, lower pH fish but as long as it isn't appearing to be stressed... all you have to worry about is what to do with it (common pleco, right?) when it gets to ~18" long and can no longer comfortably turn around in the tank.

This pleco is a l-144 Bushy Nose Pleco. They are supposed to grow to about 5 inches or less. I've had him for two weeks now and he seems as happy as a pleco eating brown algae (I understand that's pretty happy for a pleco).

Everyone seems happy. I started feeding them all cucumber slices last weekend. I also started feeding them once a day.
