24 hours ago I mixed up the water I've got in my tank (about 70 gal) with salt mix. I've let it blow round the filters since then, and I've just cracked out my salt water PH test kit for the first time.
Following the instructions, I tested the water and the colour chart goes from light green (7.5) to dark blue (8.7) .... my water came out dark purple !!!!
Tap water comes out at 7.6.
Huh ?!? Have I got incredibly high PH (presumably higher than 8.7) or is it because it's only 1 day old water, or what ?!?
