the KH was reading 0 last night also, I am wondering if all my test kits are borked. I left them on the side of the tank near the windows. could the sunlight have killed the test kits, I figured that they would be ok since they are in a opaque bottles.

Test kits have an expiry date where the reagents are no longer active. If you bought your test kits from an LFS chances are they are exprired. Look on the box they came in for an expiry date.
