Ph raising rocks

hey, Anyone know of any Ph changing rocks, I'm trying to raise the Ph in my tank so I can convert it to cichlids. The only one I'm sure of is limestone, and of course the calcium rich coral skeletons, (i've currently got a large finger coral in mine, the LFS owner convinced me It'd raise the Ph. I'm pretty much doing what I can to get the Ph up as fast as possible, since theres no fish in the tank but a pleco, and the LFS just got a beautiful new shipment of africans in. Any other ways on how to get the Ph up will be appreciated. thanks, Jacob

crushed coral or coral sand substrate

Anything with calcium carbonate in it like the limestone. Calcite, marble, dolomite, etc., or even just plain old sea shells.

You can also add some crushed coral to your filter - that way you dont have to mess with the internals of the tank.

How much are you trying to raise it? What is your current Ph? Tap Ph?

I used a few sea shells when I wanted to raise my pH.
