ph tester recommendations

after having my plant tank up for 1 week im already tired of using my chemical ph test kit

its messy and subject to giving a slightly skewed reading

what ph test devices are recommended, and which arent ?

if i could find a used one that worked well, that would be good enough for me

Do you mean that you have a drop test kit? I use drop test kits because they tend to more accurate than strips, they last longer, and are much less expensive than digital readout testers.

What brand and kind of test kit are you using right now?

If you do get a good digital readout tester, be prepared to have a permanent beaker of distilled H2O sitting out so it can stay calibrated...and stay wet. Otherwise, you'll get some skewed readings. I know that I've had that happen in the chem labs here at IWU because some idiot didn't put the reading arm back in the water and then the sensors went batty...

Ouch, I was going to ask the same question as well - there goes my so called "more convenient" option...

It's not necessarily less convenient...if you get a cheap one which may or may not hold calibration over a period of time!
