Hi,
I have a 29g fresh water tank that has been cycled for a couple of months. When I test the water's ph with test strips I get that my water has a ph of 6.2. And when I test with the API master kit I get readings of 7.8. I test at the same time with both test kits. I made sure the expiration date of both kits is good. Why the great difference in the ph readings? And, should I use the readings of the strip or the API kit? Also my lfs only use the paper strips (same brand as I use, "Jungle") so it seems logical that I would use the strips? All other readings match between the two kits and the fish and plants are doing very well. I would appreciate any comments or suggestion you may have. Thanks

29gallon tank. nitrate 0, nitrite 0, ammonia 0, ph 6.2 or 7.8.

The test strips are notoriously wrong and your LFS should not be using them. The API liquid tests are good.
