Do you have any driftwood in your tank? Usually wood will help lower the ph, it did for me.

I ran cell biology/drug development labs for many years. I do not modify the pH of my FW tanks. Does that tell you something? Yes, certainly I do know multiple ways of doing so, all reasonably safe. But why? To breed certain fish, I do modify the water chemistry to meet their requirements, short-term, for breeding, but that is not ususally pH. Display tanks, never. NIMT.
