Photo comp

Umm....I think that folks are just frustrated right now by being bumped off the site for almost a week (is seemed)....because of the bandwidth being used up. Making this suggestion RIGHT after we get back on...probably wasn't the best idea. Maybe waiting a week or so and giving folks a chance to forget the withdrawl pains might have been a better plan.....LOL !

I'm all for photo contests...I LOVE them....but I'm also concerned about having the site shutdown halfway through the month and not being able to get back on till the first of the next.....not fun.....! So I do understand the angst...however, there's really no reason for anyone to be insulting anyone else over it.....how about a nice grown up type conversation where everyone gets a chance to air thier differences respectfully and without rancor ?

Your right E. If I play into that kinda stuff Im just being stupid and thats not what the original post was about anyway. We are trying to get to a common ground with this thing and we should be adult about it. I dont want the site to shut any more than the next guy for god sake. Why would I, I couldnt post this if it did LMAO. I just want to have fun and see what we've all worked and learned so much to achieve! Thats the means of it isn't it. We should be able to show the fruits of our labor and share them with eveyone. A competition does that for us humans and trolls LMAO!!! I didnt mean to hurt anyones feelings or to hurt the site, but lets have some fun and do this for the useres. OK? :dance:

I agree. Let's all help and not suggest a photo contest of any type of picture about anything you can take a picture of on a site that is mainly about aquaria.

At least avatars are limited in the size. All the picture threads on here have a LOT of pics that are enormous. So large that you have to scroll up and down, right and left to see a single picture. So why don't we fix that before we suggest yet another oversized photo embedded thread?

I think that's reasonable.

What do you think? Maybe at least an informed and thought out set of parameters for how the thread should be constructed before you suggest yet another one that is the greatest offender of our bandwidth usage?

You're one of those that recycles only 10% of their trash and actually think that you are not contributing the other 90% to the trash overflow of civilization. <---heh, this is kind of entertaining. Maybe we should make it a running joke. :p:

LMAO, watcher we dont even have a recycle depot in our county. We'uns just burns what'in we cin LOL. Good idea on the "photo size" limit, but im not pushing the issue anymore. Ive got alot of hate mail, and some good. Last night I asked to meet the people who were intrested in the chat room @ 9:00 pm last night. There should have been at least 10 of us and only 3 showed up. Im not gonna fight a battle where Im the only one thats gonna stand up ya know. There are other sites I can post pics and compete anyway, so Im done. Glad that your not uppset any more and I hope you guys get your band striat. BTW while I was in chat "someone" accused me of loggin in as 2 different users LMAO what good would that have done LOL. Emg had a good idea of putting you guys pics in a poll. Who ever is intersted should probly talk to Emg, pretty smart cookie. Oh and watcher your one of those who would probly go 50 miles out of the way to recycle your trash and never think of the emissions your letting off doin it LOL (couldnt come up with better). cya guys :hi:

WE STILL NEED A JUDGE!!!

(and watcher, avatars are downloaded onto the site directly, while pictures are downloaded onto other sites and can be linked from there to here (thus if the picture hosting site goes away, the picture does too!) all this means is that the avatars can take up more space than a picture that is much bigger than it!)~but im guessin that the upgrades that michael was buying have come in since all the options are back!
