The one in the middle is one eye jay, the biggest of the 5. I don't know what happened to his eye, but he doesn't seem to notice, and it doesn't look recent. It looks like it's been healed over for a long time. In the display tank at my lfs, he was the most happy, active one! lol, I guess he's the "old salt"
roliva - In effect, there are two species of Saddled Bichir, P. endlicheri endlicheri and P. endlicheri congicus. I've heard that the latter can reach well over 39" in the wild, whereas the former is smaller at around 12" - 18"... The one I own pertains to the former.
