Feeding Big Tropical Fish in 2400 Gallon Aquarium
The Redtail Catfish were raised on Silver Cup trout chow; you can purchase this food in 50 pound bags at the local farm store. The growth rate in the Redtail Catfish is about 24 inches in the first year; they reach 27 inches within 18 months. With the exception of the Arowana all fish in the 2400 gallon tank eat trout pellets, both floaters and sinkers. I feed 4 cups of trout food daily and 8 to 10 pounds of hot dogs every 3 days. They also get beef heart and the Pacu get a head of lettuce once or twice a week. The large Pacu are 30 to 36 inches and weigh 30 to 40 pounds each.
This is my 2400 gallon outdoor aquarium. The tank is insulated and heated to 78 degrees.
