Pic of my 20 gal.

Well if you go to the previous page and check out the congo pics, I managed to use a flash on that and I think it came out really well. I tried no flash but it was not good. I think its because I've got very dim lighting. Its a 75 gallon with only two compact flourescent lights overhead (two 23W) and they are suspended about 18" over the tank. The light then in turn has to go through some leaves from houseplants before it hits the water. LOL Its truely a 'river' type setup. All I'm missing is murky water :)
 
that sounds really cool, can you take a picture of the whole set up? I love your congos btw they are gorgeous. I used to have a few and they were absolutely beautiful
 
Contour..I did see those pics of your congos...VERY nice indeed !

I've taken decent pics using the flash as well....it's just that I'm not really a very good photographer...lol....I depend alot on the automatic features on my camera. Anytime I get a decent pic, it's purely by accident.....and of course the numbers issue. Take ALOT of pictures....you're bound to get one or two good ones ! :D

Here is a picture I took just now. Sorry for the poor quality but I didnt want to use a flash for this one because being far from the tank, the reflection would show for sure. Still, you can see how the lighting is at the top and all the plants and roots. The tank itself is brighter than the pics shows by about 30%. Still dim by anyone's standard for an aquarium but i was more concerned about giving the critters a soothing natural habitat I guess. No super bright lighting.

Not sure but they are pretty common from what I understand. You can pretty much cut it anywhere and toss it in some water and after a few weeks it will have rooted and continue to grow. They would totally over power everything if it was not for my apple snail nibbling on the roots but even so, I think he's not keeping up :)
