Not sure if its suitable. It has sulfurcates I believe. Is this toxic to fish?

Its called Pure Power Clear Ammonia, got it at Stop & Shop.

This stuff smells, very strong. :thud:

its surfactants - another way to say something that acts like a detergent - lowers surface tension of water. My first bottle of ammonia was like that - put it in the broom closet and find another one. try drug store. pure ammonia - no surfactants, no detergents, no aromas........
Duane Reade has it in NYC.

Ah, yeah I dont have the bottle in front of me. I got it just in case it was good, only a $1.30.

I'll go to Walmart and get something else. Thanks.

A&P is no good either - surfactants.

What about blue ribbon ammonia? PUre? The only mention of anything that has to do with surfactants, detergants, aroma.... is that it has no phosphates. Doesn't mention anything else. One of the employees at my LFS told me that is what he used. Is that okay?

The guy at the LFS said he used it to cycle his tank. I shook it and there were no bubbles. That's what I looked for. That's what I was told to look for.. nothing else.. I just hope my tank is completely screwed.

I got my ammonia from Wal-mart...it's like $0.97. It's got a cheap looking purple or blue paper on the outside of it with "ammonia" written in big letters across it. It might have said "pure" on it as well...I don't remember, the bottle is in the basement, I'm too lazy to go get it. I shook it, and it didn't have any bubbles. I used it to cycle my 46g tank and it worked great
