This weekend i am picking up 4 new bristlenose plecs-
Peppermint Bristlenose male 3"
Albino Bristlenose female 3"
Brown Bristlenose male 4"
Calico Bristlenose female 3"

I have a 6ft and a 4ft tank and am not sure whether to put all 4 into the 6ft tank or put a male and female into each tank,or both males in 1 and both females in the other. Both tanks have driftwood, the stocking for each is in my signature below. Also, who would you keep together if you did split them up, which colours would look nicer alongside each other?

I'd separate the peppermint from the other 3, it's a different species and wouldn't be good if they crossbred. They're also usually wild-caught, and a bit more particular about their water conditions.
The brown, albino, and calico are all color morphs of the common BN, so breeding them together isn't an issue.

ok, so the peppermint can go in the 4ft tank, the other 3 will go into the 6ft tank. thank you :thm:

all 4 are in the 6ft tank, i felt bad splitting them as they have been together a while and were all in the same 2ft tank at the womans house. they all huddled together under the driftwood. they are busy exploring, and have devoured most of the algae in the tank already!

i know i have a normal brown male with a ton of bristles, and a calico bristlenose which is a female with no bristles. the other 2 im not sure, i have one which she said was albino but its bright yellow with yellow eyes too, i thought albinos had pink eyes??? and the peppermint, im not sure if its actually a peppermint as its not got any really bright spots which i thought they had. time will tell i guess, let them settle for a while and il check.
