Pics of a tarantula molting

I think its kinda cute in a creepy way.. how long do the males live as adults?

Don't quote me on this but I think just a few years. I know females can live much longer than the males.

I think it's pretty cool too...

that's pretty cool. thanks for sharing. too bad he probably won't live through his next molt. maybe you should mate him...(:
really?

Sorry, I didn't mean to creep anyone out. I did label it tarantula molting. I just thought I would share because it's not something you see everyday. How many people never thought how a spider/tarantula or any invertebrate for that fact grows? I know that tarantulas are not for everyone. The tarantulas are my hubby's. I have just learned to appreciate them, and are fascinated with them.

Males only live about 5-7 years while the female can live 20+ years. Males are usually smaller then the female as well. As far as breeding goes, we have a mature female, but he may not live thought the mating process. We'll see. I'm not into the breeding thing. He was our first tarantula.

Very cool photo's indeed.....My sister used to keep tarantula's years and years ago...amazing watching this happen....of course, i would use the molts to scare girls with....LMAO.... ( ok ok ok....i was only young, come on.... )
