How old is the tank by the way as its looks really really clean

the tank is about 8 months old. and yes that is a piece of lava rock but i doesnt effect my ph.

i'd suggest to put some actual live rock in there to help seed it and give the tank some diversity of life

That was the point I was going to put across. Just make sure its quality cured live rock though so as not to cause to much disruption to water params
