Pics of nice giant Gouramis(not small)

Well this is weird I went to my LFS today and they had a horse face gourami...you just take it out of the tank and let it graze for an hour a day.

just knda curious as to why someone would take the time to photoshop a gourami to make it look better for people that he/she has never met in their life and most likely will not?

I agree....some people are so good with photoshop that they can alter a picture to make it look real, but not everyone who uses photoshop. So it's all too easy to take a class at a community college and say: "my photoshop experience tells me that your picture has been tampered with...." The experts couldn't even agree exactly how Condaleeza Rice's eyes were altered to make them look so, well, you've seen that pic....

So what is it exactly that makes his photo look photoshoped? I think he has a great looking fish, but has no background on his tank. Jason, what you really need to do, is take more pics. Try a full tank shot.

i have gouramis i just dunno how to load them on here and yes your such "BIG" giant gourami does look altered, perhaps photoshop may have been used to make your such wonderful looking gourami so "giant".

That's possible, but if you've ever seen or cared for giant gouramis, you'd know that they don't need any help to look giant.

Here's my red-tail since you're interested Jason. This was taken not too long after I first got her.

The place where my mom gets her nails done has a giant gourami. The tank is waaay too small. What size tank should you have one of those in anyway?

A giant gourami can easily reach 10+ inches. A full grown adult can be as large as 24". Such big fish need at least a 200 gallon tank.

Don't know about his feeding habits, but if it eats like my regular gouramies (like pigs) it must poo a lot, so a strong filtratiuon will be required.

Actually, if I remember correctly, I posted instructions in that thread on how to do it. Yah, here it is:

Wasn't that hard.

I did some excessive research on large gouramis and came across a very interesting species. Its the so called "Troll gourami" (Trichogaster trollitus).

Its a rather interesting (from a psychiatrists point of view) but boring species. Its activities include starting the same lame threads over and over, and whining endlessly in unrelated threads about how great jebo products are.

Here jasontrollz - i even made you an avatar of this great fish so you can use it as yours !!!
