Hey, IM trying to get some pictures of my tank.... Having troubles and would like some tips... If I use the flash I get bright spot in the picture, and the other times its fuzzy and cant tell the pics. I have a nice camera its a Nikon 4.0 Megapixels 3x zoom ect...

For one, take pictures at an angle to the glass and you'll eliminate the bright spot. I also have better luck standing back and zooming in rather than getting to close to the glass. Try it.

Also, some more things you should do:

1)for full tank and possibly signle fish shots, turn room lights off, add lighting to the tank if at all possible. turn off flash'

2)Don't hold your camera. Use a tripod or similar to hold your camera for you. This will help reduce blurry-ness.

I've found, at least with my *wonderful* (NOT!!) camera that sometimes it's easier to take a FTS, then crop out the fish/image you were going for. Also, when you do it that way, you sometimes see fish you didn't know were even in the shot!

**HP R717 6.2 MP... I don't recomend it**

I use many of the techniques listed above..I sometimes also use a thick piece of white paper to cover the flash at an angle upward, so the flash is deflected like a fill flash, yet keeping the shutter speed faster than if you turned off the flash.

I bought some Up close Macro lenses for my pics, that seems to help too if you have clean glass

i been taking a lot of pics. for me i get as close to the glass as i can. i take the pic at a angle so the flash isnt bounced back to me. another thing is make sure you use Macro setting.
