Pictures - Brown algae nightmare

Really, I would like to turn this tank into a heavily planted shrimp tank. But it is taking me a very long time to get my 75 gallon/heavily planted tank up(Had it since december and still trying to get it together).

I want to throw the corys in the 75 and add to their number, and give the Betta to a friend of mine that just lost his Betta after having it for several years.

But I would like to figure out a way to reduce my maintenance level on this tank.

In truth, because I do not like this tank, I do less maintenance on it than the 29 gallon(which is Bass Ackwards, I know. Smaller tanks need more maintenance.) But it is actually more difficult to work on this dang thing than my larger one.

So I would like to find opinions on a fix that do not require more maintenance.

Snails I can't get(only two LFS and they both do not carry snails, ever. I've asked. Something about them carrying diseases? WTF?).

Ottos, I have never seen here(Tx) or in Virginia. (Been in the hobby a year and a half).

Twig Catfish I have never even heard of, much less seen anywhere.

ARGH! Does anyone want this tank?

I'll give it to you free of charge with all the accessories.

Heck, at least take the fish, so I can break it down.

I have the lights that came with the tank. No markings on the bulb so I don't know the wattage or spectrum. But it is definetly not for a planted tank.

What should I do? Increase the light to change it to a green algae nightmare instead? :D

I'd bet you could buy the recomended snails or fish on the internet.
course, I'd happily take the tank, :D but thats seems a bit extreme, what with shipping and all. Wonder what kinds store credit you could get fo the whole thing, fish included?
