Give that betta an air stone or something, and Id watch how that tank is overhanging. Watch those outside the tank sticky temp gauges, there not that accurate. Besides that, nice tanks!

#1 is my new tank and it is currently lightly stocked - see above
#2 is the first tank(with new fry net!) that looks horrible because the plant is fogging up my water.
#3 hermit crab (named LP)
#4 is my Betta (Mitsushima)

I second Po's warning about that second tank overhanging its base. Better to have it on a stable platform that runs the entire length of the tank. Does the betta tank have a little filter inside? Have'nt seen one like that before. How big is it?
Thanks for posting the pics.

for the hermit and the betta...more room..tis all NICE though :-D

no filter in the betta - hes getting upgraded soon as is the hermit crab. the hermit is a new addition and i refused to pay $25 for a larger tank down the shore - so hes in progress. I am also picking up a base for the 2nd 10 - it was an unplanned fry emergency so i had to get it going quickly.

thanks for the concern!

Looks like a great start Meliss! I have to agree about the betta and hermit needing more space though.

Me too. But not bad for a start. It's off topic but I'm going to go off on a tangent about hermit crabs. They don't tell you jack when people buy them at the beach. They sell them in those mesh cages which are death traps. They need humidity that only an aquarium with a fish tank top lid can provide. They need a dish of fresh water, large enough to submerge themselves and a dish of salt water. The ocean mixes they sell for fish is good. They need a lot of various sized shells, veggies, fruit, only occasional meat, all of which is supplemental to pellets. They also need a cuttlebone.

I use sand in my tank and wet one half of it for them to burrow and have the choice of being wet or dry. It provides humidity. There's also something called TropicAire which you might want to look into. It's a humidifier that exchanges the air for fresh air.

They need heat, about 90 degrees f so a heating pad is a good idea.

They're climbers so they need lots of things to climb on and hide in. One thing mine like is a fisherman's net I picked up from Michael's (the craft store). They sell it by the shells and beach glass.
