This is a picture of the tank tonight after I got it back together from the UV sterilyzer install.

Notice the brown algae growth on the coral. Not pretty. Anything I can do? Or is this just a consequence of this being a new tank that I used tap water to fill initially? Tank is 2 weeks old and I use 9325k PC (110w) 8hr/day.

Tap water and 2 weeks old, wait it out, lessen the photo period and it won't grow as much, but your going to have to deal with it regardless to some degree.

Once you get a better water source and some inverts it will clear up quickly.

I wil be replacing the water w/RO through bi-weekly 25% water changes. Eventually I am hoping that will cut down on it. From what I'm reading, it'll go away on it's own eventually even if I did nothing to the tank.

A friend of mine just set up an 80g and his tank is 3 or 4 weeks old and has this stuff as well. He also started with tap water. :)
