I went to the LFS looking for a cerith snail for my 2.5 pico tank, and unfortunately, they were out. However, the associate recommended margaritas as the next best thing. The particular snail I purchased seems to have a bright green coating on his shell. Is it algae? Will it eventually come off?

Also the red legged hermit crab I purchased doesn't have very red legs.. They almost look greyish with a dark red tint and even striped. The claws are grey but the very tips are red. The antennae are bright red. Any input?

They had zebra hermits there and they look nothing alike. Any stripes are barely noticeable and run vertical, not horizontal. Will the hermit eat the algae off the snails shell?
