ok so this pink tail chalceus or characin i guess is in the same family as piranhas. i was wondering if anyone in here has every mixed the 2 or know what i can add with this 4 inch lil guy. i really want some small piranhas
.

Where are you located? Soem areas restrict or ban piranhas. What size is the tank? You realized this requires a very large tank considering the Chalceus macrolepidota can reach 8-10 inches?

ya they are illegal where i live. but i live 3 min from the Rhode Island border where i get my fish and he has them. i know that i need a huge tank. although the fishstore guy never told me that. I'm actually looking to rehome him right now. Anyone want him that lives in the area of Worcester Mass?

if they are illegal where you live, you probably shoudlnt get them.

especially since you just said so on a public board.

lol i dont care. do i really expect someone to show up at my door for a fish? nope. plus my dad is chief of police. so its all good. they also have nile crocs at this store...although wont be getting them ahah

pirahnas eat everything including taking chunks out of each other. i would keep them as species only and not mix them with other types of fish. the only thing i see that wont be eaten is something way too aggressive like a buttekoferi (sp?) or a red devil.

Bumpylemon, this board will not condone illegal activities so this thread will not be reopened to more discussions even if your father has a lot of influence to change the situation. Thanks.
