pirahna

You could get away with having 4, despite what majority are saying. If you house them together from young then they will tend to be less aggressive towards eachother, alot of hiding spots will also help. Keep in mind the fish take a long time before they're full grown and given they're living in a tank they will be no where near wild size pirhanas.

I had pirhanas a couple years ago and they are ONLY exciting to watch when eating, otherwise they hide and do nothing almost 24/7.

How does this help the OP? This is not even adult size yet.
who's talkin adult size? he never mentioned size. most people get pirahnas small, a 50 is PLENTY of room for two 3 inchers, chances are they'll die or get swapped before he needs to upgrade. quit raggin on me for trying to be nice and help a guy out! all i'm sayin is i had 2 3inchers in a 50 that prospered for almost 2 years! then i got sick of them and sold them to some douchebag in the paper!

Then at 2-3 inches for 2 years, there is just something wrong with their growth and I am not 'ragging' on you if that's what you are really thinking.

I agree on 6 of the smaller SDs, the ones that average 4-5" hopefully. Just don't try any plants in there, unless you spoil your fish :grinno:

Wow, seems you really do like fish and people there, with all of that very nice talk towards both groups, I'm surprised you're even bothering to post! :headshake2: Really helpful there too, with all that *cough* :bs: *cough* you're saying.

that's how big they were when i got them, 2 pirahnas, 50 gallon at that size, perfectly fine. how many grow them out? few. one can always upgrade to a larger tank later.
