piranah for 29 gal?

No piranha can be kept in a 29G permanently.

You can keep a few (less than 5) exodons in a 29G. They are scale eaters just like piranha, and actually much more aggressive than piranha. But be adviced exodons are difficult to upkeep, most will kill each other, especially in small shoals. Good idea to have a lot of plants or hiding places in the tank.

You can buy exodon from here:

I have had piranahs before and they are not very much fun. The first time they eat a fish it is cool then it gets really boring. All they do is sit and hide until feeding time once a week. You seem to just want to see death. If you really want that get a turtle and feed it crickets.

lol can turtle really catch crickets? how do they do that moving so slow and all.

oh yea, they can't run much but when one foolishly wanders near it head they move surprizingly fast.

I'd recommend a leopard gecko though.

Sanchezi piranha is a serrasalmus piranha, and could live in a 29g for life, add a powerhead and you got one crazy fish! I'd contact nate from massive aggression for these. around 10$.Ive had one and they are full of personality and dont need a shoal. Piranha are my specialty, the only piranha capable of shoaling are pygo SP, and very few piranha from the serra.

Sanchezi will barely hit 6" and will be perfect in a 29g. Many people keep them in 29g and they are healthy, beautiful, specimens. Check out any of the piranha sites, ask vendors, and they will all tell you that the Sanchezi piranha is best for a 29g. I personally like the purple throated sanchezi myself.

NO.

Use common sense. A standard 29 gallon is 30.25" long, that's barely above 4x the fish length. And serrasalmus sanchezi is not your slow moving angels, it's a piranha which means an extremely fast and active swimmer.

And i dont care what vendor says, that's like listening to petco giving fish advise. Actually the most well respected piranha fish vendor on the net, Petro, states an adult fish needs at least a 40x16x16 tank (~45 gallons). And he estimates very conservatively, because like all vendors he wants to sell as many fish as he can.
