The LFS here sells the you all the time for about $8 a piece. They're about 2" long when you can get them here. Hello Kate from a fellow Illinoisan. What college are you at?
BBN I'm in Charleston, IL at Easter Illinois University. I live about an hour from there and commute. My brother is the owner or I wouldn't be doing this.
Originally posted by KateA. However, we get calls at least once a week "will you take back my piranha?". People get tired of feeding it, it sits motionless in the back of the tank most of the day, it's not a very active fish.
how much do you make off re-selling piranhas? Hey, wonder if you could do a rent-a-piranha deal
We've got three. Not only are they inactive, they're also skittish. The floor vibrates, and if you walk past the tank too much, they go smashing into things.
But, we knew that before getting them (and have 5 other tanks!) so it's cool. They're really beautiful fish, just not the violent psychopathic predators the movies make them out to be. Want that - get a cichlid!
