Last time I checked living things don't erode
WUT? After death, everything eventually decomposes in to its smallest particles which eventually become part of the environment. If a single molecule of you ends up in the ground and enough rain hits you, you will indeed erode and wash down stream. Need a Wikipedia article on Pedology?

Not that it is worth getting in on, but all living things erode. They just rebuild as fast, or faster than they erode. That is what much of the dust is in your house, it is YOU eroded. Kinda gross really.

(And on topic: The video was decent. I am glad it wasn't a live mouse!)

Also on topic, way size tank is that?

Two different processes. If you think that all minerals and such in soil are from once living things that have decomposed maybe YOU need that article...
For the purposes of this discussion, I believe we are speaking of what would be walked on which would most likely be topsoil. Topsoil would have about the highest concentration of decaying organic matter in addition to decayed organic matter. And, completely decayed organic matter would be comprised of water, minerals, and air.

If you don't think that just about every square inch of exposed land contains particles that were once in a living creature, I would like to introduce you to this thing called "time" and the relatively long amount of it that the planet has been supporting life.

Here is another example to wrap your mind around. Every time you breathe, you are breathing some of the air that Jesus breathed-

That is not debatable. However not everyone is walking on topsoil.

I'm not debating decomposition on any level. My point is that soil has to develop from a parent material...
That's nice. But, if you go back far enough, you will find that everything in existence was once made up of a single thing, the Singularity. The Singularity expanded in the Big Bang and gave rise to all the small particles that make up the most basic of atoms, Hydrogen. The Hydrogen eventually formed in to clouds which eventually formed stars where all other heavier atoms were produced. The first stars exploded sending the heavier atoms out which eventually formed planets. All the atoms on this planet including the ones in you are stardust. We are all made of stars. FACT. And, we all die and return to being dust.
